So why did I start this blog? Well, about two years ago, I started scrapbooking. I'm not a particularly artistic person, but I thought it might be a fun way to relieve some stress and create some fabulous memories. I have literally thousands of pictures uploaded online, but I rarely ever look through them. And there's nothing better than sitting down with someone you haven't seen for awhile and flipping through a cool book to show them what you've been up to lately.
My mom (who, for sure, is the best mom in the world) made picture albums for us kids while we were growing up. That was waaaaaay back in the day when they didn't know about "acid-free" and there was no way to "upload" photos (the Internet hadn't even been thought up yet....). The memories those books hold are literally priceless to me.
And so the light bulb went on in my head and I started printing photos like crazy, trimming, gluing, journaling.... phew! I had NO idea how much I didn't know about scrapbooking. I bought a couple books and some basic supplies and sat down with everything alllllll spread out around me. Now what? So, it was off to the web to find tips and tricks, layouts, techniques, etc.
What did I find? Beautiful, and I mean fabulous, intricate, beautiful scrapbook pages.... for more advanced scrappers. As a beginner, it felt a little overwhelming and my debit card literally started having an allergic reaction every time I got near a Michael's. But over time, I (at least in my humble opinion) have gotten a little better and have wanted to share what I've learned with others....
.....which brings us to Kreate by KeKe: a scrapbooking blog by a beginner, for beginners. I promise this blog will only be about scrapbooking (with an occasional tangential rambling about life here and there). I promise I will try techniques and teach them to you to the best of my ability. I promise I will show you how to make a scrapbook that is YOU and friendly on your budget. I promise to have links to the most fabulous scrapbooking blogs, resources, and supply sites.
